Costco has been testing checkout technology it hopes will speed up the checkout process, something members rank as one of their significant concerns with the warehouse retailer.

When you consider that Costco has close to 143 million members, it stands to reason that its checkout lines may be a little slow, even when you’re savvy about the Costco checkout process. That’s a lot of people all trying to buy their favorite warehouse club must-haves.

The company has been testing new technology they call "Scan and Go done by Costco" to make the line go faster. Scan and Go allows customers to scan products on their phone and pay for them without ever hitting a register.
