James Wood hit a pair of two-run homers, including a game-winning shot in the 11th inning, and the Washington Nationals snapped their 11-game losing streak with a 4-3 victory over the Colorado Rockies.

In regulation, the Rockies had a scoring opportunity in the sixth after Brenton Doyle laced a double off the center field wall to put Ryan McMahon at third with one out after he led off the inning with a single. The Nationals went to Cole Henry out of the bullpen and he promptly struck out Sam Hilliard and Arcia to end the threat.

James Wood, the Nationals’ rising star, launched Halvorsen’s 1-0 splitter 428 feet to center field for a two-run, 11th-inning, walk-off homer Thursday afternoon at Nationals Park. Washington won, 4-3, snapping its 11-game losing streak and putting the breaks on Colorado’s four-game winning streak.
