Coming in right before the official midpoint of the year is Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. The sequel to the first project from famed video game developer Hideo Kojima after he left Konami, it made all the important improvements to elevate a quirky game into an amazing experience.

On the Beach might not be the kind of game that jumps to mind when you think of online gaming. After all, this is a delivery adventure where most of the time you're jogging up hills or riding bikes along roads with heaps of packages in your backpack in order to please NPC mission givers.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach has been out for almost a week, and it's won over both fans and critics. It currently sits at a 90% Critic Rating and 100% Player Rating on OpenCritic, and is setting itself up to be one of the contenders for this year's Game of the Year.
