Gov. Ned Lamont and other state officials didn't rule out using state money to help the Sun stay in Connecticut, amid concern the team may relocate.
On Monday, Sportico's Kurt Badenhausen and Eben Novy-Williams reported that the Connecticut Sun could relocate soon as the Mohegan Sun (the team's ownership group) has hired an investment bank to search for a new buyer. The Mohegan Sun has owned the franchise since 2003, when it was then known as the Orlando Miracle.
Former league MVP Tina Charles spoke fondly of the franchise that drafted her No. 1 overall in 2010 during the Sun's press conference on Tuesday.
