The Tigers limped into the All-Star Break, and they are struggling coming out of it as well. After getting shut out in the first game of the series on Friday night, Detroit had little to show for it on Saturday. Despite scoring a run, thanks to a Riley Greene homer in the ninth inning, the Tigers still came up short, losing 4-1.

American baseball fans were charged an admission fee for the first time. About 1,500 spectators each paid 50 cents to see Brooklyn play New York.

These three days will be tacked onto the seven days from July 7-13 into a singular scoring period. The short weekend means that teams' fourth and fifth starters coming out of the All-Star break won't get to work until the following week.
