When the Mariners were the sport’s biggest winners in last offseason’s MLB Draft lottery, they knew they’d have the chance at selecting one of the very best prospects in the 2025 class with the No. 3 overall pick.

MLB.com’s Daniel Kramer first reported that Anderson and the Mariners already agreed to a signing bonus in the $8.8 million range, roughly $700,000 below the third overall pick’s assigned slot value. The Mariners entered Sunday’s draft with the second-most total bonus pool money in MLB ($17,074,400), trailing only Baltimore.
