A former California Highway Patrol officer died and another man was critically injured in what investigators believe was an attempted murder-suicide Thursday morning near a Stockton gym, officials said.
A woman was found dead inside a home in Garden Grove after her husband allegedly shot another man before killing himself, according to authorities.
Garden Grove police were called just after 8 a.m. Thursday to a home in the 11500 block of Morgan Lane, just south of Orangewood Avenue.

The Stockton Police Department said it happened shortly after 9 p.m. at an apartment complex along Grouse Run Drive at March Lane in the northern part of the city near Quail Lake. Officers arrived to find a 22-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man, both shot. They have both been taken to an area hospital for treatment.
