7月14日（米国時間）、AIエージェントIDEであるDevinを運営しているCognitionがWindsurf買収するための最終契約を締結しました。これにより、Windsurfの製品、知的財産、商標、ブランドがCognitionに統合されます。

コード生成やテストなどのタスクを自動で実行する自律型AIエージェント「Devin」を開発する米Cognition AIは2025年7月14日（米国時間）、コーディング支援を手掛ける米Windsurfを買収すると発表した。

OpenAIとの交渉破談やGoogleによる人材引き抜きで揺れていたWindsurfに対し、Cognitionが買収という形で支援の手を差し伸べた。混乱の続いていた状況にひとまず区切りがつき、Windsurfは新たなスタートを切る。
