Iván Herrera has become the first catcher in the St. Louis Cardinals' 123-year history to hit three homers in a game.

Herrera’s three-homer day propelled the St. Louis Cardinals to a 12-5 win over the Angels, wrapping up a 4-2 homestand that manager Oli Marmol described as “aggressive” and “a good way to play the game.”

Iván Herrera on Wednesday became the first catcher in St. Louis Cardinals franchise history to hit three home runs in a game. In all, the 24-year-old Herrera went 3 for 4 with a walk, six RBI, and three runs scored in the Cardinals' 12-5 win over the Los Angeles Angels in the series finale at Busch Stadium.
