LSU football's 2026 recruiting class lost a four-star receiver, but the Tigers' class is still among the best in the country.

LSU and SMU are set to play a nonconference series for the first time in the history of both programs, the schools jointly announced on Monday. The pair will play in Baton Rouge on Sept. 2, 2028, and return to Dallas on Sept. 1, 2029.

LSU now has one game on the schedule in 2028. In 2029, it has non-conference games set against SMU, Arizona State, Rice and McNeese State. The Tigers are scheduled to host Arizona State that year in the first part of another home-and-home series.

LSU football has a talented roster entering 2025. These five Tigers all have a strong chance of earning All-SEC honors.
