Elon Musk has launched a new artificial intelligence (AI) venture under his xAI initiative, taking on the mighty Microsoft. The project, Macrohard, was announced by Musk on X (formerly Twitter) on August 22.

Musk has toyed with the idea of Macrohard for a long time now, even making public comments about it. In 2021, he had posted on X: "Macrohard >> Microsoft." Last year, he reshared that post after a major Microsoft outage disrupted services for millions of users around the world.
