A recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling has cleared the way for a controversial high-level nuclear waste storage facility in Andrews, Texas—despite years of opposition from state leaders and local residents.

The Supreme Court ruled against Texas and landowners who challenged a plan to store thousands of metric tons of nuclear waste at a facility in the state.
