Alina Habba, counselor to President Trump and interim US Attorney for New Jersey, said that Baraka had “willingly chosen to disregard the law” and had “ignored multiple warnings from Homeland Security Investigations to remove himself from the ICE detention center.

The Trump administration warned three Democratic lawmakers Saturday that arrests are “on the table” after they participated in a protest at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility in Newark, where the city’s Mayor Ras Baraka was collared.

Democratic New Jersey Reps. Rob Menendez, LaMonica McIver, and Bonnie Watson Coleman were at the facility with Baraka to protest the ICE prison.
