Severe thunderstorm warnings were issued for several counties in Northern Illinois over the course of the evening Thursday. One such warning was issued at 7:39 p.m. for Lake County and eastern McHenry County,

At 5:03 p.m. on Thursday, the NWS Blacksburg VA issued a severe thunderstorm warning in effect until 6 p.m. for Rockingham and Stokes counties.

Forecasters say isolated thunderstorm cells could become strong enough to produce small hail and wind gusts that could topple trees and power lines.
