Chicago Cubs starter Shota Imanaga was placed on the 15-day injured list on Monday due to a left hamstring strain. He suffered the injury during Chicago's 4-0 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday. In the bottom of the sixth inning, Imanaga grabbed his hamstring after running towards first base in an attempt to turn a double play.

Freddy Peralta pitched six sharp innings to help Milwaukee beat the Chicago Cubs 4-0, with the Brewers’ lineup breaking through after an injury knocked out left-hander Shota Imanaga in the sixth inning.

Imanaga’s injury follows a start Tuesday in Pittsburgh in which he left in the sixth inning with leg cramps in both legs. He said he felt good Sunday before the injury, and “there was no sign in the back of my leg” before the start.
