Pittsburgh now has arguably the best 1-2 punch at tight end in the NFL in Smith and Penn State alum Pat Friermuth. The latter, a former second-round pick, has posted 60 or more receptions and 497 yards receiving in three of his four NFL seasons.

The Dolphins have agreed to deal Jalen Ramsey, Jonnu Smith and a 2027 seventh-round pick to Pittsburgh in exchange for Minkah Fitzpatrick and a 2027 fifth-round pick.

On more than one occasion, the Steelers emerged as a potential landing spot for him in the event no new Dolphins pact could be worked out.
