A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for southeastern Phoenix and part of the East Valley is already being affected.
An updated tropical storm warning was released by the NWS Newport/Morehead City NC on Wednesday at 4:57 a.m. in effect until 1 p.m. for Mainland Dare.
"The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe limits, and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property. Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire. However, gusty winds and heavy rain are still possible with this thunderstorm," explains the National Weather Service. The warning is in effect until 6:15 a.m.
The National Hurricane Center (NHC) is now monitoring three disturbances in the Atlantic, as Erin continues to prompt warnings along U.S. East Coast beaches. As of Friday morning, the NHC said that a "small area of low pressure located well southwest of the Azores is moving through a dry environment and producing only occasional showers."
Severe storms are rolling through Chicagoland on Monday afternoon, resulting in several warnings and alerts from the National Weather Service.

A tornado warning was issued for the Stuart-Nechako region in north-central B.C. on Sunday afternoon. The warning, issued at 1:10 p.m. PT on Sunday, says forecasters are tracking a severe thunderstorm that could possibly produce a tornado.
A severe thunderstorm warning was released by the National Weather Service on Sunday at 5:39 p.m. in effect until 6:30 p.m. for Essex, Hudson and Union counties.
