The president's approval ratings gap is worsening as more Americans are disapproving of the job he is doing as president.

President Donald Trump’s approval rating has taken a downward turn, according to the latest Morning Consult poll.

According to the report, 56% of Americans disapprove of how Trump is handling the economy, compared to 42% who approve. Independents in particular "overwhelmingly disapprove of Trump's handling of the presidency, with 33% in support and 58% not.
