Borussia Dortmund are closing in on agreements to sign Chelsea pair Carney Chukwuemeka and Aaron Anselmino. Chukwuemeka is due to join the German club on a permanent deal, while Anselmino, 20, is set for a season-long loan – which does not include an option nor obligation to buy.

Anselmino has been with Chelsea since January, when he completed his prearranged transfer from Boca Juniors six months earlier than initially agreed. Despite that, we’ve not seen much of the 20-year-old center back, who finally did make his debut at the Club World Cup.

Chukwuemeka’s on-pitch involvement has been similarly limited since he moved from Aston Villa to west London in 2022, tallying just 32 appearances. He too struggled with injury throughout his time at Stamford Bridge, and was sidelined for five months by a knee issue after scoring his first senior goal in 2023.
