Twins All-Star Byron Buxton put together a strong performance to make it past the opening round of the 2025 Home Run Derby, but his run came to an end against the Rays' Junior Caminero in the semifinals.

Minnesota was the home of the first All-Star Week Home Run Derby in 1985, as Tom Brunansky took second while mashing dingers in the Metrodome. In 2008, Justin Morneau also made it to the big stage of the derby.

After finishing up a practice session with superstar center fielder Byron Buxton, a reporter approached Watkins to talk about the upcoming Home Run Derby. He agreed to answer a few questions while trying his best not to draw any attention to himself.
