A Philadelphia jury on Wednesday convicted a suburban man of killing a Temple University police officer who had chased him down as a suspect in a series of carjackings.

The man tried to leave with a 3-year-old boy at a soccer field around 5:43 p.m. at Thomas Jefferson Park on East 114th St.
